A feature-dense social sports app where friends track live NFL/NBA scores and news, challenge each other with 'gages', climb leaderboards and talk trash in group chat — with push notifications and deep links throughout.
Source is private. The Firestore real-time design that keeps live scores, chat and leaderboards consistent is explained below.
About this project
Gage is a social layer on top of live sports. Users follow real-time NFL and NBA scores and news, then create friendly wagers — 'gages' — with friends, tracked on leaderboards with full history.
As lead developer I owned the Flutter app and the Firebase cloud functions (TypeScript), covering auth, profiles, a friends system, group chat, push notifications and deep linking.
The hardest problems were real-time: keeping scores, chat and leaderboards consistent over live Firestore listeners without runaway costs.
